Serbia-Poland and Turkey-France, semifinals in Konya

The semifinals of the U-16 Turk Telekom Tournament of Konya (Turkey) are already set: Serbia-Poland and Turkey-France. The four teams beat their opponents yesterday in the quarterfinals, with only one game tied. Poland and Italy played the most balanced game, with polish victory (73-74) due to a great team job. Forward Norman Zuber ('94) finished as the best winners scorer with 16 points and 3/6 threes, while 1.77 point-guard Jan Grzelinski ('94) added 12 and 8 assists. Italians battled, and lost even dominating the rebound. Once more Aristide Landi ('94) was the best player with 19 points and 6 rebounds.
In another game Serbia didn't have problems to win Slovenia (84-65). Center Milos Jankovic ('94), from Cacak, led the winners with 14 points and 7 rebounds, and forward Nikola Jankovic ('94) collected 13 and 4 steals. No options for slovenians, with forward Jakob Strazar ('94) nailing 15 points with 2/4 behind the arc.
France is still unbeaten in the tournament (4-0), with an easy victory over Germany (76-51), qualifying for semifinals. French prospects were already winning by 19 in the first quarter. Guard Boris Dallo ('94) collected 18 points with 3/4 threes and guard Anthony Racine ('94) finished with 16 and 4/5 behind the arc. French squad finished with 9/16 at three points line. At german side the best player was Mauricio Marin ('94) with 10 points and 4 rebounds.
Finally Turkey had less problems that what it seemed to beat Greece (73-54), with Tayfun Erulku ('94) scoring 13 points in 19 minutes and guard Kerem Gülmez ('94) making a double 12 in points and rebounds. At greek squad forward Paris Maragkos ('94), from Panathinaikos, scored 22 and pulled down 8 rebounds.
