PROFILE

The combination of strength, athleticism and mobility makes Paolo Banchero a unique prospect. A natural force, dominant in the paint at this stage where, mostly, attacks facing the basket, getting past the defender easily thanks to his explosiveness and going for the dunk with a considerable leap. Has some potential as a stretch but needs to add range to his shot (he is ok shooting at mid-range right now) and improve his handles because is too right-hand dominant. His touch near the basket is also something to work on. Banchero also has an impressive ability to pass the ball; is unselfish, always tries to involve his teammates and has a surprisingly variety of passes and reads which is not easy to find in a player of his size and position. A great shot blocker and rebounder thanks to his willingness and physical tools, Banchero shows some glimpses defending in the perimeter: his footwork looks fine but he is slow moving his hips when needs to change the direction.
