The financial crisis has not only put a crunch on the teams in Europe, it also has closed the gap between the top european clubs. For example, a lot of the big spending clubs were forced to scale back financially, therefore they couldn't buy up good young players and stashed them on their bench. This has allowed these players to go to different clubs and strengthen them, while weakening their team. In my opinion, this is a major reason the gap between the have's and the have nots has narrowed... I'm expecting this years Euroleague to be one of the most exciting in recent years. My only concern with the financial situation is the crunch will start to make clubs use younger players instead of paying americans to fill some roster spots.
