Ruzic had an impressive season with Badalona exploiting a tough season injury-wise for Penya's big-men. I don't think his physical growth has ended yet. Skilled power-forward with NBA potential. Puts the ball on the floor, finishes with creativity at the rim. Reliable shooter on pick&pop. Decent athleticism. Overall, his mix of skill and size is impressive. Projects as a skilled PF in the league.

Season review- January 2024
By Artau Pascual

Impressive display by Michael Ruzic so far. While he's still developing his body and still has some ways to go to improve his strength and athleticism, he has already been able to find out ways to adjust to the level of competition he has to face. Plays hard and smart. On the offensive end, Ruzic is mainly being used as a spot-up threat: most of his plays are face-up and he has turned into a respectable shooter. He can beat forwards off the dribble in closeout situations and he makes quick and easy decisions. Lately he has started to put on display some advantage creation on the drive, being able to assist open shooters. Very limited volume still, but there are some strong indicators of post-up potential.

On the defensive end, he struggles to guard faster forwards and still can't handle matchups with more skilled or stronger forwards on the floor, but he's a good team defender and he does a fair use of his length and game understanding.

ANGT Zadar- March 2023

Late bloomer with a good frame to add muscles. Zadar allowed him to play as a big on the offensive end for many minutes, and he put on display his touch, coordination and feeling: he was good at posting up in either direction, took advantage of his fluidity to produce in transition and could put the ball on the floor against slower opponents. He also had some nice slip actions in pick and roll and did good reads when he drew the attention of the defense. Can’t handle contact against physical bigs.
