Yesterday started the Eurobasket of Poland with good news for the serbian basketball fans. With a very young squad team coached by Dusan Ivkovic beat Spain -the main favourite to win the Gold- with a 66-57 score. The fresh air that is coming from youth serbian teams, the key of the great image they gave yesterday. Milan Macvan ('89) -at the pic- scored 8 points with 2/5 behind the arc, Miroslav Raduljica ('88) collected 2 points in 5 minutes, Stefan Markovic ('88) scored also 2 and grabbed 4 rebounds, and finally Nemanja Bjelica ('88) collected 2 points and grabbed 3 rebounds in 8 minutes. At spanish side Ricky Rubio ('90) scored 6 points and dished 3 assists, while Victor Claver ('88) didn't score in 7 minutes (0/1 FG). On the other game of the group Great Britain lost against Slovenia (59-72). For the englishmen Daniel Clark ('88) didn't play.

Let's take a look to group A. Greece beat FYROM easy (86-54). Kostas Koufos ('89), 6 points in 9 minutes, and Nick Calathes ('89), with 4 points and 5 assists, helped in the victory. And Croatia did the same with Israel (86-79). Gal Mekel ('88) did a great job for the loosers: 16 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists.

At group B Russia won Latvia (81-68). Rolands Freimanis ('88) didn't play for latvians. On the other game France beat Germany (70-65). Nicolas Batum ('88) scored 12 points and grabbed 8 rebounds and Antoine Diot ('89) played 8 minutes, scoring 2 points. About german team Elias Harris ('89) collected 4 points and 2 rebounds, Tim Olbrecht ('88) scored 2 points in 9 minutes, Robin Benzing ('89) didn't score (0/2 threes in 16'), Lucca Staiger ('88) either in 3', and Tibor Pleiss ('89) didn't play.

Finally in group D Poland beat Bulgaria (90-78). Bozhidar Abramov ('90) and Chavdar Khostov ('88) didn't score in 7 and 10 minutes at bulgarian side. On the last game Lithuania lost against Turkey (84-76). Baris Hersek ('88) only played 2 minutes for turkish team: 1 turnover.
