Quarterfinals started yesterday in Katowice (Poland) with two games: France-Spain and Russia-Serbia. Team coached by Sergio Scariolo destroyed french recovering the defense of last championships. If Ricky Rubio ('90) shoots well, then is difficult to stop: 8 points (2/2 threes), 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. His teammate Victor Claver ('88) -at the pic- played only 1 minute: 1 rebound. For France Nicolas Batum ('88) collected 7 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals, while Antoine Diot ('89) added 3 points and 1 steal in 11 minutes.

In the other game Serbia qualifyied for the semifinals after beating Russia (68-79). Milan Macvan ('89) scored 5 points and grabbed 3 rebounds, Stefan Markovic ('88) collected 3 points and 3 rebounds, Nemanja Bjelica ('88) didn't shoot but grabbed 5 rebounds and made 2 steals, and Miroslav Raduljica ('88) only played 2 minutes.

Spain will face the winner between Greece and Turkey and Serbia with the winner between Croatia and Slovenia.
