Entente Orleanaise will play in the Euroleague for the first time in its history after surviving to a thriller against Benetton Treviso. Italians won game 2 of the home-and-away series (80-82), but Orleans’s 9 point win from the opener gave them the aggregate victory and the spot in Regular Season Group B.
Young power forward Adrien Moerman ('88), scoreless through three quarters, came alive with 3 three-pointers and 15 points in the last 10 minutes to rescue Orleans and take them to the Euroleague.
Moerman was Orleanaise response in last quarter against the Benetton 3 points shots. Ludovic Vaty ('88) also helped with 6 points and 3 rebounds. For Benetton Andrea Renzi ('89) finished with 4 points and 2 rebounds, while Donatas Motiejunas ('90) started the game but only played 5 minutes (0/3 FG and 2 turnovers).
