Pietro Aradori ('88) is one of the big surprises of italian A1 league this season, but the prospect also participates in the Eurocup, so he has the oportunity to show his skills to the rest of Europe. This competition started yesterday, with 32 teams fighting in eigth groups. Lauretana Biella, Aradori's team, beat yesterday czechs of Nymburk (78-77), with the guard collecting 18 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal. In the same team french Carl Ona Embo ('89) also is making a good season's start. Yesterday, and coming from the bench, 8 points (2/2 threes) and 5 assists in 24 minutes, while Massimo Chessa ('88) collected 10 with 2/3 behind the arc.
Other good performances of this first day have been:
-Marko Keselj ('88, Red Star): 10 points, 2 rebounds and 1 steal in the victory against Dynamo Moscow (76-67).
-Janis Strelnieks ('89, Ventspils): 16 points (2/3 threes) and 8 assists in the losing effort against Bamberg (62-85).
-Tibor Pleiss ('89, Bamberg): 11 points and 9 rebounds in 19 minutes in the victory against Ventspils (62-85).
