Burak Yildizli ('94) and his teammates of Turkey added today their second victory after two days in the U-16 Iscar Tournament (Spain) after beating Castilla-Leon region 82-60. The power-forward, after a great performance on his debut (26+6), collected today 18 points, 18 rebounds and 2 block shots, putting his team with a 2-0 record in the group A. His teammate Tayfun Erülkü ('94), at the pic, also shined with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists.   

In the same group italians recovered from the losing effort against Turkey and they beat easy Slovenia 87-58, with Riccardo Rovere ('94), Virtus Siena guard, scoring 15 points in 17 minutes, Aristide Landi ('94) collecting 13 in 15' and Francesco Candussi ('94), 12 in 18'. For slovenians Jakob Strazar ('94), from Jance, repeated as their best scorer with 14 and 7 rebounds. Also shined Jan Rizman ('94) with 13 and 3/6 threes and Filip Pesek-Omerdzel ('94) with 11 with 5/6 twos. 

Let's talk about group B. Russia added its second victory in two games beating Portugal 58-38. CSKA Moscow guard Georgy Egorov ('94) led russians with 23 points (7/21 FG), 3 rebounds and 3 steals. His CSKA teammate Mikhail Kulagin ('94), 11 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists. For portuguese team only Diogo Ventura ('94) reached the double figures: 10 points (2/12 FG) and 4 rebounds.

Finally Poland surprised Spain (71-77). Three polish prospects scored 15 or more points. Daniel Szymkiewicz ('94) collected 17 with 3/8 threes, 6 rebounds and 3 assists, Nikodem Sirjatowicz ('94) scored 16 with 4/6 behind the arc, 4 rebounds and 1 steal, while Damian Jeszke ('94) collected 15 (7/10 twos) and 10 rebounds. For local team point-guard Albert Homs ('94) -this year he has been in the bench of Joventut Badalona ACB team- collected 20 points (8/20 FG) and 9 rebounds. His teammate Santiago Villena ('94), 15 with 3/7 threes, 3 rebounds and 3 steals.

 

Standings. Group A: Russia (2-0), Poland (1-1), Spain (1-1) and Portugal (0-2). Group B: Turkey (2-0), Italy (1-1), Castilla-Leon (1-1) and Slovenia (0-2).
