Latvia won its two games at the opening day of Baltic Cup, played in Tallinn (Estonia) from today till Tuesday. The U-16 and U-18 national teams beat Finland 75-66 and 80-71, becoming the only country winning both games. Youngsters won with guard Oskars Reinfelds ('94) collecting 15 points, 12 rebounds and 6 steals, while at finish squad Iikka Mäki ('94) finished with 16 points and 2/3 behind the arc. At the U-18 team latvians were led by guard Kaspars Vecvagars ('93) -22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 steals- and center Edmunds Dukulis ('92), with 22, 13 rebounds and 1 block. The best of Finland was forward Kilian Cato ('92): 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 steals.

Sweden U-18 crashed Estonia 84-65 with a great game of center Sebastian Norman ('92), who collected 18 points and 8 rebounds in only 28 minutes. For losers, guard Rannar Raap ('92) scored 21 points and added 5 steals. Finally Estonia U-16 beat Sweden 75-77 due to the great job of team led by guard Rainer Pastimae ('95), who finished with 15 points and 6 rebounds. At swedish side Papy Ndiaye ('94) scored 22 with 4/9 threes.
