Haukur Palsson ('92), from Iceland, and his teammates of Montverde Academy (Florida) won the Montverde Academy Invitational Tournament (MAIT) after beating Findlay Prep in the final (54-51). For Nevada squad danish Thomas Laerke ('91) scored 7 points, the same as Palsson, at the pic.

According to Daily Commercial, "this is a huge win for our program," Montverde Academy coach Kevin Sutton said. "We beat a great team, a nationally known team, and our community and student body came out to support us and this tournament. We've beaten a lot of great teams in my time here and this one might be the biggest." 

 

Another european prospect, lithuanian Gilvydas Biruta ('91), scored 15 points in the Newark National Invitational yesterday in the game St. Benedict's Prep played against De la Salle, with victory of Biruta's team (80-50).
