Serbians of FMP Zeleznik and french of INSEP will play today the big final of the third Euroleague's season Nike International Junior Tournament, held in Belgrade (Serbia), after beating Partizan and Buducnost on semifinals. FMP didn't have a lot of problems to win Partizan (71-58) after entering last quarter 20 points up. Nenad Miljenovic ('93) led the winners with 18 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals, while forward Nikola Siladi ('92) added 14 points and 5 rebounds and center Nemanja Bezbradica ('93) nailed 12 points and pulled down 8 rebounds. With Partizan 2.20 center Nemanja Besovic ('92) collected 16 points and 7 rebounds and youngster Nikola Radicevic ('94), 11 and 3 boards.
In the other semifinal INSEP beat Buducnost (73-61) after starting losing in the first quarter. The rebound battle, one of the keys of the final result. Center Mourad Benkloa ('92) did a good job leading french squad with 18 points and 8 rebounds, helped by forward Jean Charles Livio ('93) -at the pic- with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Point-guard Mathis Keita ('92) dished 11 assists. For montenegrin squad guard Marko Mugosa ('93) showed his scoring skills: 21 points with 4/10 threes and 6 rebounds.
On the battle from the 5th to the 8th final spots Brose Baskets beat ASVEL (56-65) with the best individual performance of the tournament. Philipp Neumann ('92) made a 52 valoration with 33 points (10/14 FG and 11/15 FT), 14 rebounds, 6 blocks and 4 steals. The good game of Lambert Diacono ('92), with 20 points and 3 rebounds in 16', wasn't enough for the french squad. With the game tied, the 5-20 of the third quarter became the key.
In the other game looking for the final fifth position Hemofarm beat Red Star (81-75) with guard Petar Lambic ('92) leading Vrsac team to the victory with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and center Danilo Tasic ('93) making a complete contest: 14 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 blocks and 2 steals. For Belgrade squad Jovan Djordjevic ('93) made a 30 valoration with 21 points and 8/10 FG.
The first games of the morning were the last ones of the preliminary round.
-FMP beat Red Star (45-88) with Stefan Popovski-Turanjanin ('93) leading the winners with 15 points in 19 minutes. Marko Radonjic ('93) collected 14 points and 3 rebounds for Red Star.
-Buducnost won ASVEL (87-81) with guard Luka Radovic ('92) making a great show (26 points, 12 rebounds and 36 valoration) and Diacono collecting 26 and 8 rebounds.
-INSEP beat Partizan (56-58) and took the first group's spot with a great Keita (19+6). Guard Marko Jusilo ('93) scored 14 with 2/4 bombs.
-Finally Hemofarm won Brose (51-63) with another complete game of Lambic (16 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals). For germans, without Neumann due to an injury, the best was guard Deon McDuffie ('93) with 23 points even 4/13 behind the arc.
