The english federation already announced a list of 26 players to prepare the U-18 Division "B" European Championship of next summer, a tournament that will be held in Tel-Aviv (Israel). The squad, coached by Tim Lascelles, will try to make the final and promote to the division "A". Last summer brits finished fourth of the second division tournament. Eurohopes contacted Devon Van Oostrum ('93), currently playing with Fundacion Baskonia, the second team of Caja Laboral (ACB) at spanish fifth division, an important piece of english basketball future.
The guard explains that "we are going there to win the tournament. We are fed up of being at division B". Van Oostrum adds that "we want some more respect, and we need to go at division A to get that".
The prospect finished third with England on last U-16 Division "B" EC at Porto, scoring 21.2 points with 40% at three points line.
