Zalgiris Kaunas and FMP Zeleznik will play the final of the U-20 Vilagarcia Cup Tournament, held in Spain, after finishing with a 2-0 record in their groups. Lithuanians added their second win in front DKV Joventut (48-69), with the spanish squad finishing with 20 turnovers and 1/16 behind the arc. Guard Zygimantas Janavicius ('89) -at the pic-, loaned from Zalgiris to Aisciai, repeated a great performance with 20 points (4/6 threes), 5 rebounds and 2 steals. Vytenis Lipkevicius ('89) added 8 with 2 steals while Vaidas Cepukaitis ('89) nailed 7 puling down 5 rebounds. Both prospects played loaned to Aisciai also. For DKV Joventut youngster montenegrin Marko Todorovic ('92) made a double-double (14 points and 11 rebounds) and Nacho Llovet ('91) added 8 points and 5 rebounds.
FMP Zeleznik qualifyied for the final after an overtime in the victory over Asefa Estudiantes (86-81). Serbians won crashing spaniards in the rebound (38-20) and making a 66% on twos. Power-forward Nikola Markovic ('89), this season loaned to Radnicki, scored 21 points (3/11 ft!), pulled down 8 rebounds, dished 4 assists and made 4 steals. Guard Aleksandr Zaric ('89), also playing with Radnicki, added 15 with 2/2 behind the arc. At Madrid team the best scorer was Sergio Llorente ('90), playing in EBA (fourth division), with 22 and 4/9 threes.
The other game played today was the one between Asefa Estudiantes and Budivelnyk. Ukranians won (66-77) led by Stanislav Tymofeyenko ('89) with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steals. The power-forward made good stats in last U-20 EC at Rhodes: 11.0+8.1. For Estudiantes Guillermo de la Puente ('91) made a double-double (11 points and 13 rebounds).
