Montepaschi Siena won the U-17 Memorial Barilà tournament after defeating Benetton Treviso in the final (80-71). Alessandro Magro, coach of the winners, explains at Montepaschi web site that "I am very happy with the result of the team. We can see the level of the group comparing it with the rest of the country. It has been a good test to follow players who have grown very much, not only technically". Philippo Mascagni ('93) led the team in the final with 21 points, while Gianmarco Sorrentino ('93) added 20. For Treviso squad bulgarian Pavlin Ivanov ('93) nailed 19, while croatian Armin Mazic ('93) scored 17 (the guard made 30 in the semifinals against Eiffel).

Ivanov (Benetton) finished as the best scorer of the tournament.
