Asefa Estudiantes won the U-18 Madrid Region Championship with golden boy Jaime Fernández ('93) leading the team averaging 20.3 points and 3.6 assists. The guard -gold last summer in the U-16 EC in Kaunas- was named in the Muevetebasket.es All-Tournament team, with brazilian Lucas Riva (Estudiantes, '92), Oussenoi Laye (Torrejon, '92), Álvaro Martin (Olímpico, '92) and Aigars Skele (Majadahonda, '92).  Eventhough, the latvian finished as the official MVP of the tournament.

Skele, who arrived during the season from a latvian second division team, also finished as the best scorer of the tournament with 25.3 points, adding 9.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists. Majadahonda qualified for the next round, like Estudiantes and Olímpico 64, fighting for the spanish final round. The 1.92 guard is brother of Armands (Ventspils).
