Nenad Miljenovic ('93) is here. The guard of FMP Zeleznik made an impressive performance yesterday, but today he decided the game against KK Split with a buzzer beater behind the arc. Serbians added their second win in the Euroleague's Nike International Junior Tournament final round, held in Paris (France), showing their credentials (74-72). Miljenovic made again more than a 30 valoration, in this case nailing 23 points (2/6 twos, 1/5 threes and 16/19 ft), pulling down 6 rebounds and drawing 15 fouls (!), scoring his only three-points shot at the buzzer. Youngster Nikola Jankovic ('94) didn't waste his time and in 26 minutes he made 15 points and 11 rebounds. For croatians danish guard Esben Reinholt ('93) shined with 19 points and 7/15 FG. KK Split is with a 0-2 record.
In the second contest of the day Unicaja Malaga added also its second win in the tournament after beating Benetton Treviso (52-64). Braziian guard Rafa Freire ('92) was the key of spanish squad with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 2 steals, while bulgarian guard Pavlin Ivanov ('93) finished as the most ranked of the italians with 13 points and 8 rebounds even struggle at three points line (1/8). Benetton could be different with Alessandro Gentile ('92) in the roster. But he is not there. They acumulate two losses in two games.
As Rolandas Jakstas ('92) told to Eurohopes some days ago Zalgiris Kaunas is one of the favorites of the tournament, and at the moment they have a 2-0 record after winning Olimpija Ljubljana today (71-84). Jakstas broke the stats with 20 points, 15 rebounds and 1 block, helped by forward Edgaras Ulanovas ('92) with 19 points and 7 rebounds. At slovenian side international guard Jan Span ('92) made a great performance, but wasn't enough: 19 points and 10 assists even he struggled with 3/11 behind the arc.
Finally, to end the journey, INSEP beat Cajasol Sevilla in the overtime (81-79). Livio Jean Charles ('93) made a good job for winners with 17 points and 7/11 FG and guard Mathis Keita ('92) also shined: 15 points and 5 assists. For spaniards forward Pablo Villarejo ('92) nailed 31 points with 4/9 threes.
