The quarterfinals of the U-19 italian final round championship are already set after the games played yesterday in Bologna: Bergamo - Teramo, Benetton - Stella Azzurra, Virtus Bologna - Eurobasket Roma and Montepaschi - Fortitudo Bologna. The big name of the journey was again Achille Polonara ('91). The prospect put Teramo between the best eight teams of Italy after leading his teammates to the victory over Reggiana with a 39 valoration: 17 points (6/12 twos, 1/2 threes and 2/4 ft), 19 rebounds, 5 steals and 4 blocks. Guard Simone Colonnelli ('91) led the winners with 26 points (11/21 FG), 5 steals and 2 assists. At Udine side Mirza Alibegovic ('92) finished as their best scorer with 18 even 3/12 from downtown. Marco Maganza ('91) wasn't enough either: 15 points and 20 rebounds (but 10 turnovers).

 

-Reggiana 74 Teramo 78: amazing performance of Achille Polonara ('91) again, unstoppable and the main weapon of Teramo to qualify for the quarterfinals (against Bergamo). The prospect collected a 39 valoration (17 points, 19 rebounds, 5 steals and 4 blocks), helped by shooting guard Alex Martelli ('91) with 17 points (7/15 FG). Reggiana battled, but couldn't make it even the good job of 7-foot center Riccardo Cervi ('91): 18 points, 17 rebounds and 4 blocks.

 

-Scavolini 60 Fortitudo 68: the prize was a quarterfinals spot against Montepaschi (Siena squad is the favorite for the title). Fortitudo took the ticket in a tough game due to guard Gioacchino Chiappelli ('91), finishing with a double-double (13 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists). For Scavolini Victoria Libertas shooting guard Alessandro Amici ('91) poured 21 points, pulled down 8 boards and had 3 steals.

 

-Moncalieri 61 Eurobasket Roma 69: who will play against locals of Virtus Bologna at Futurshow Station of Casalecchio di Reno? Eurobasket Roma won with show from Alessandro Cecchetti ('91). The forward collected a 33 valoration without resting: 26 points (10/15 twos, 0/1 threes and 6/7 ft), 14 rebounds and 2 steals, while Eugenio Fanti ('91) made a double-double (13 points, 15 boards and 5 assists). Youngster Riccardo Milone ('92), the best of Moncalieri with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 steals with a 25 valoration.
