The 2010 Adidas Eurocamp at Treviso is history. After a three days stay in Italy spending most of the time between La Ghirada and eating pizza in the downtown, we came back home convinced that has been the worst edition of last years studying the level of the participants. Our bad sensations of the last day improved watching the last game between the french U-20 NT and an All-Star team. But only a bit. With most of the players tired and after cancelling the morning game our mind turned cloudy, only using our neurons talking about the level. With an organized squad like the french one the people attenting the gym woke up, with Josep Franch ('91), from DKV Joventut (Spain), showing great sparks, and a good connection with czech David Jelinek ('90), also from Badalona. Interesting news of the day? French Kevin Seraphin ('89), from Cholet, appeared only to be measured. He is injured, but had time to meet with Chris Wallace (Memphis GM) and Bouna N'Diaye (his agent) in one corner when the gym was also empty at noon. The center is one of the few europeans who can be choosen in first round, with brit Ryan Richards ('91) or serbian Miroslav Raduljica ('88). Eventhough we can live a less-european first round. We will see. Good or bad news for Europe?
The first contest of the afternoon was crazy. Disorganized plays, catch-and-shoot every 10 seconds, bad sensations,... We supposed the kids were tired. The game was tied, with Benzing winning All-Tournament honors (17 points with 8/13 FG). Catalan PG Franch led the winners with 13 (2/2 from downtown) and 2 steals. Beside him also shined french early-entry Sarra Camara ('89), from Le Havre, with 8 points, 12 boards and 2 steals. Youngsters Lynos Chrysikopoulos ('92), from Aris, and Bogdan Bogdanovic ('92), from Zitko Basket, continued sending us great sensations, specially the serbian. For sure he finished as the prospect who enjoyed more these days in Treviso, also laughing and shooting in the gym when the rest were in the swimming pool (like "injured" Dasic yesterday).
Some minutes later started another game, also tied like most of the ones played in La Ghirada. American Jeremy Tyler ('91) -amazingly in the official All Tournament Team- played his best, with 15 and 8 boards. Pietro Aradori ('88) -14 i 19'- and Nihad Djedovic ('90) -12 in 15'- showed once more his scoring hability. The DKV connection (Franch-Jelinek) wasn't enough to win even both finished with great stats.
In the last contest France U-20 battled, but lost 64-57 against an All Star Team. Edwin Jackson ('89), motivated against his mates, poured 14 points with 5/11 FG. At the other side no one scored in double-figures. Forward Nikola Stojilkovic ('91), last season in San Francisco (NCAA), finished as the most valorated: 5 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists.
