DKV Joventut Badalona and Regal FC Barcelona will play today the big final of the U-16 spanish final round championship, held this week in Durango. Both won yesterday in their semifinals games, with Albert Homs ('94), from DKV, and Alexandr Zhigulin ('94) -at the pick with his U-19 NT-, from Regal, as their main weapons. Let's check what happened.

 

Semifinals:

 

-Gran Canaria 64 DKV Joventut 65: Badalona squad won even another great performance of both africans. Mamadou N'Diaye ('94) had 17 points, 18 rebounds and 3 blocks, while Tridon Makonda ('94) added 14 points, 20 boards and 4 assists. Guard Albert Homs ('94) led the winners with 21 and 8/15 FG.

 

-FC Barcelona 81 CAI Zaragoza 64: Alexandr Zhigulin ('94), from Kazahkstan, the main reference of team coached by Bernat Magrans. The forward poured 23 points (10/16 FG) pulled down 6 rebounds and dished 2 assists, sending his team to the final. For CAI shined forward Guillermo Aliende ('94) with 20 and 8/14 FG.

 

Games for the 5th-8th position:

 

-Valencia 60 Estudiantes Lugo 74: African Placide Nakidjim ('94) was unstoppable with 23 points, 16 rebounds and 2 assists, while the best of Valencia was guard Carles Leal ('94) with 14 and 2/4 from downtown.

 

-Real Madrid 60 Unicaja 62: Center Guillermo Hernangómez ('94) wasn't enough for white squad, even he had 13 points, 12 rebounds and 1 block. Youngster Victor Ruiz ('95) led the winners with 16 and 3 steals. 

 

Games for the 9th-12th position:

 

-Easo 70 Valladolid 72: Dario Brizuela ('94) led the winners with a 30 valoration (24 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals). At Valladolid side point-guard Victor Lobo ('94) nailed 18 with 8 rebounds.

 

-Alicante 54 Fuenlabrada 59: Point-guard Carlos Caballero ('94) lifted his team to the win with 19 points, 11 boards and 3 steals. For Alicante shined forward Fabio Astilleros ('94) with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
