The 2010 edition of the U-16 Riom Tournament is history, with France taking the title after three victories in three games, in their preparation for the European Championship held this summer in Bar (Montenegro). Yesterday the Bleus crashed Bulgaria (65-91) with guard Anthony Racine ('94) naling 21 points with 3/8 from downtown and Boris Dallo ('94) -at the pic- showing his skills: 12 points with 4/7 threes. For Bulgaria the amazing contest of Nikolay Stoyanov ('94) wasn't enough. The shooting-guard poured 33 points (10/16 FG) pulling down 9 rebounds. Also yesterday Poland beat Slovenia in a tied contest (67-65) with Norman Zuber ('94) shining again with 14 points (even 4/13 FG). For slovenians Tomas Bolcina ('94) scored 16 and grabbed 12 boards, while Jure Kopac ('94) added 11 and 6 boards.
In the games played today France had another easy goal, beating Poland (105-56). Youngster Damien Inglis ('95) led the winners with 16 points (8/10 FG) and 9 rebounds in only 23 minutes coming from the bench. Beside him shined Anthony Racine ('94) again with 16 and 3/7 threes. French squad was winning by 18 points in the first quarter. For polish men forward Filip Struski ('94) nailed 20 with 3/7 from downtown and point-guard Jan Grzelinski ('94) added 10 with 6 boards and 4 assists. In the other contest of today Bulgaria won Slovenia (71-77) with another show of Nikolay Stoyanov ('94): 31 points (8/12 FG) and 11 boards. Beside him youngster Aleksandar Vezenkov ('95) added 14 with 2/5 threes. At slovenian side Jure Kopac ('94) scored 18 with 8/11 twos and Matic Rebec ('95) poured 11 with 3 assists.
Who was awarded for the All-Tournament Team? Damien Inglis ('95), Anthony Racine ('94) and Mouhamadou Jaiteh ('94) from France, Nikolay Stoyanov ('94) from Bulgaria and Jan Grzelinski ('94) from Poland.
