Spain U-20 will start this Thursday its participation in the Division "A" European Championship that will be held in Croatia, and they will arrive in a good shape after winning the Arganda Tournament, played this week-end with Lithuania, Czech Republic and France. After a first win against the czechs (93-67) team coached by Juan Antonio Orenga won again yesterday against France (73-66), but lost today against Lithuania (79-91). Eventhough spaniards won the tournament. The best of Spain in these three contests has been power-forward Nacho Llovet ('91), from DKV Joventut and loaned to El Prat (LEB Silver), after averaging 17.0 points. Against french squad Llovet collected a 27 valoration with 20 points (8/10 FG) and 5 rebounds. Guard José Simeón ('91) added 12 points with 4/4 FG. For team coached by Jean Aimé Toupane best valorated was Paul Lacombe ('90) with 6 points (2/3 threes) and 4 boards.
In today's game against Lithuania spaniards couldn't stop Eimantas Bendzius ('90), who finished with 21 and 4/6 threes. For Spain montenegrin-borned Nikola Mirotic ('91) and Nacho Llovet ('91) nailed 21 points each. In another game of the tournament played yesterday Czech Republic beat Lithuania (82-77) with David Jelinek ('90) showing many things: 27 points with 13/15 FT. Tomas Satoransky ('91) helped with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. For baltic squad Gediminas Orelik ('90) poured 14 with 5/11 FG.
