Denmark made a strong opener in group B, beating Scotland (68-88) with Rasmus Soeby ('89) -at the pic- scoring 8 points (2/4 from downtown) in 11 minutes. Daniel Donnelly ('89), the best prospect in the losing effort: 3 points (1/3 threes) in 19 minutes. In the other game of this draw Malta crashed San Marino (83-51). Nigel Sultana ('91) shined for locals with 7 points and 2 steals in 8', while Enrico Zanotti ('90) finished as the best scorer of San Marino with 10 points (even 3/12 FG) in 33 minutes.
In group A Andorra added an important win over Moldova (73-70). Mourad Hcini ('89) played 1 minute at winners side. In the other game Gibraltar beat Wales (58-68) with a good job of youngster Jamie Sercombe ('92) with 9 points (6/8 FT) in 23 minutes. For Wales Andrew St. John ('89) scored 6 (3/3 twos) and had 4 steals in 8'.
