Team coached by Stanislas Hacquart crashed Greece yesterday (84-58) with Charlie Pontens ('95), from Stade Pontois, leading the victory with 13 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals in less than 20 minutes. Beside him power-forward Paul Rigot ('95) -at the pic-, from JALT Le Mans, added 11 with 2/2 from downtown and 1.94 forward Romuald Morency ('95) nailing 11 with 2/4 behind the arc. For greeks, who lost in the opener against Spain, Mihalis Liapis ('95) scored 16 with 4/10 threes and Ilias Theodorou ('95) poured 10 with 2/4 from downtown.
In the other contest of the day spaniards lost against Italy (71-64) even another great performance of Javier de la Blanca ('95), from Real Madrid. The power-forward collected a 24 valoration due to 22 points (9/16 FG) and 8 rebounds. Beside him Carlos Barrera ('95), from FC Barcelona, also made a good job with 15 points and 8 boards, while Ferran Ventura ('95), from DKV Joventut, scored 10 even 4/12 FG. Who shined for the winners? Antonio Smorto ('95) scored 13 points with 2/2 threes and Enrico Melli ('95) also 13 with 6/10 FG in 18 minutes. Vittorio Nobile ('95) added 12 with 8 boards. Today Spain and France will play the final of the tournament.
