France beat Spain in the final of the U-15 Friendship Tournament, becoming the new championship of this competition, held this year in Orleans (France). Team coached by Stanislas Hacquart won by 10 points (65-55) with forward Romuald Morency ('95) -at the pic- as their best scorer with 12 points (3/4 threes) and 4 rebounds. But also the good job inside of 2.00 center Lionel Ebreuil ('95), from St Charles Charenton SM, was important: 6 points, 15 rebounds and 1 block in only 20 minutes. For Spain Javier de la Blanca ('95) shined once more with 17 points, 9 boards and 2 steals. Beside him Ferran Ventura ('95) finished with 12 points and 5 boards, even 0/7 from behind the arc.

 

In the other game Italy beat Greece (67-82) with a great performance of Saverio Mazzantini ('95), who poured 22 points with 7/11 FG and 8 boards. Enrico Melli ('95), the best italian in Orleans, scored 17 with 2/4 threes and 6 rebounds, while Marco Spissu ('95) also made a good job with 14 points and 2/5 threes with 10 rebounds. At greek side Mihalis Liapis ('95), their best player in the tournament, nailed 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals.

 

Final standings: France (3-0), Italy (2-1), Spain (1-2) and Greece (0-3).
