The semifinals of the U-20 Division "B" European Championship, held in Austria, are already set after the last game of the Qualifying Round. Sweden-Poland and Austria-Bulgaria will be the next battles, with the two finalists promoting to Division "A". Today one of the best performances has come from Dennis Donkor ('91). The belgium guard led the win against Norway with 27 points and an amazing 8/11 from downtown. Belgium will fight for the positions between 5th and 8th.
Group E
-Israel 78 Finland 62: With a great 10/16 at three points line Israel added its third victory in this round. Forward Yotam Shiran ('90) poured 18 points, with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Is his fifth game in a row with double-figures. At finish side Carl Lindbom ('91) nailed 14 with 5/13 FG and 5 boards.
-Portugal 80 Hungary 77: Diogo Correia ('90) and Tomas Barroso ('90) scored 23 points each. Janos Ellingsfeld ('91) made a great performance, but not enough: 22 points with 9/13 FG and 12 boards.
-Bulgaria 61 Sweden 74: Aleksandar Georgiev ('90), the best scorer and rebounder in Austria, scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, but bulgarian couldn't win. Alexander Lindqvist ('91) led swedish with 19 points and 3/5 threes. Both teams are in semifinals.
Group F
-Norway 69 Belgium 85: Impressive Dennis Donkor ('91), unstoppable with 27 points and 8/11 behind the arc (14/30 all the team). Once again Anders Stien ('90) finished as the best norwegian with 17 points and 2/5 threes.
-Great Britain 82 Slovak Republic 66: 18 points up at half time, and half job done. Alex Marcotullio ('91) scored 17 points and 3/8 threes for brits. Michal Kózar ('90) made a great job, but slovakians lost: 23 points with 5/10 threes.
-Poland 82 Austria 78: Piotr Pamula ('90) showed his skills leading the win with 19 points (7/15 FG) and 6 boards. For hosts Rasid Mahalbasic ('90) -at the pic-, MVP last summer in the same competition, poured 26 with 8 rebounds.
Group G
-Georgia 72 Belarus 62: In the fight to avoid the last positions georgians made a good step, with Akaki Dvalishvili ('91) collecting a double-double (18 points and 12 boards). For Belarus Valiantsin Ihnatchyk ('91) nailed 12, with 8 rebounds and 2 steals.
-Denmark 70 Switzerland 42: Game with no history (25 points up at half time). Center Jonas Bergstedt ('91) led the danish people with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Jéremy Jaunin ('91) scored 11 in 19 minutes at the other side.
