Last June 8th Eurohopes published an article about swedish Nicholas Spires ('94). Barcelona and Caja Laboral Vitoria were fighting for him. According to some media rumors in Spain the prospect has signed for the catalan team. This morning Sweden lost against Portugal (65-57) in the opener of the U-16 Division "B" European Championship, with Eurohopes staff following the tournament on live from Tallinn (Estonia). The 2.07 forward had 8 points (4/13 FG), 6 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 blocks and 2 steals. What kind of player is he? Check our scanner.

"Spires is a tall and athletic player, really skinny but he knows how can play with contact. He tries to play with ability close to basket, hooks and fakes when he has to play against stronger players than him. Nicholas has a nice low-post game, getting good benefit playing fakes, spins and nice footwork to face the basket. He can shot behind the arc but prefers play dribbling and reverse to stay near the paint and take advantage with his huge wingspan. His mentality looks good, he is not the most ambitious player but in offense he always tries to play agressive. His body still don't help."
