Holland won the U-15 Nordic Sea Development Basketballcup, held in Höganäs (Sweden) last week-end, after finishing with a 2-1 record. Dutch prospects lost against Sweden shocking with Jacob Johansson ('95), from KFUM Göteborg. The 1.91 guard ended with 27 points. But won the other two contests against Denmark (75-55) and Germany (79-75). In this last game Ismet Akpinar ('95), from BC Hamburg, poured 21 at the losing effort after an overtime. Mike Hogervost ('95) led the winners with 23 points. Great result of the team coached by Martin Scheltes.

 

The dutch roster was: Biko Blommenstein ('95, Uball), Willem Brandwijk ('95, Lokomotief), Yannick Brunink ('95, ABV Mosquito’s), Jaron Dijkhuizen ('95, Lokomotief), Melle Herwaarden ('95, ABV Mosquito’s), Mike Hogervorst ('95, Lokomotief), Cas Horstman ('95, The Jugglers), Daan Rosenmuller ('95, Harlemlakers), Lenno Witteveen ('95, ZAC Zwolle), Julius van Sauers ('95, ABV Mosquito’s), Tom de Haas ('96, Eiffeltowers) and Pim de Vries ('95, Eiffeltowers). 

 

In other games of the tournament Germany beat Sweden (84-71). Ismet Akpinar ('95) led the win with 25 points, while Dino Dizdarevic ('95) added 14 and Robert Zinn ('95) 8. At swedish side Filip Kovacek ('95) scored 18 and Jacob Johansson ('95) 14. Germans also won Denmark (59-74). Janis Stielow ('95) led the victory with 18 points, while Akpinar added 17.  

 

Finally Sweden lost against Denmark (59-62).  

 

Final Standings: Holland (2-1), Germany (2-1), Sweden (1-2) and Denmark (1-2).
