Like every year Villaviciosa (close to Madrid) held another edition of the U-18 AB Villaviciosa Tournament, with four interesting teams competing: Valladolid, Unicaja, Asefa Estudiantes and Real Madrid. Finally Malaga squad earned the title with Alex Abrines ('93) as the MVP. We've checked what Carlos Gomez wrote in Muevetebasket web site about the event.

Abrines is a 1.96 guard with an excellent 1x1, good three points shooter, great legs and interesting potential. He ended the tournament averaging 22.0 points in the three Unicaja wins: Real Madrid (84-80), Estudiantes (79-60) and Valladolid (70-50). Guard Luis Conde ('93) and Alberto Diaz ('94) completed a good week-end also.

For Madrid there were some absences, like internationals Daniel Diez ('93) and Guillermo Hernángómez ('93) or Placide Nakidjim ('94) -signed from Breogan Lugo-, but made a good tournament led by Julen Olaizola ('93) and Modou Mbaye ('93), signed from Unelco Tenerife.

As Estudiantes croatian Filip Cvjeticanin ('93) -son of Danko- averaged 13.0 points, while Juan Saiz ('94) showed again his amazing wingspan (2.25) and Edgar Vicedo ('94) made good games. Javier Medori ('93) ended with 12.0 points.

Finally Valladolid struggled due to their height, but fought on defense.
