Daniel Szymkiewicz ('94) ended as one of the best players of the U-16 European Championship of this summer in Bar (Montenegro). The polish guard averaged 17.4 points (the third best), 6.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 4.1 steals (the best). Last season he shined in the 2Liga of his country playing with WKK Obiekty Wroclaw (9.9 points and 3.0 rebounds) and decided to add to Sport School Cetniewo with another polish rising star: Przemek Karnowksi ('93). But things changed. Finally the 1.91 guard signed for Trefl Sopot and today made his debut in the PKL league with only 15 years old playing 3 minutes in the clear win over AZS Koszalin (92-61). He scored 1 point (1/2 FT) and made 1 turnover. In the same game his teammate Adam Waczynski ('89) nailed 14 points with 2/4 behind the arc.
Eurohopes contacted the prospect: "Today I've played my first game in extra league after two practices with first team of Trefl Sopot. It was cool, a great experience. I left Cetniewo because morning individual training and a competition and practice with senior players from extra league is better than practice with junior team". Easy.
