During the Copa del Rey in Madrid (Spain) eight U-14 teams competed in the Mini Copa, with final victory for DKV Joventut after beating Regal FC Barcelona in the big final (77-84). 1.89 forward Albert Real ('97), from the winners, earned the MVP award behind 24 points (10/16 twos and 4/12 ft), 15 rebounds and 4 steals. Beside him also made a good job Albert Ruiz ('97), with 16 and 9 boards, and Andreu Nicolau ('97), with 12 and 9. For FC Barcelona bosnian Nedim Djedovic ('97), brother of Lottomatica's Nihad, posted 17 and 8 boards, while Raúl Timoner ('97) added 14 with 5 boards. 1.95 forward Jonathan Barreiro ('97), the spanish main prospect of this generation, ended with 8 points and 11 rebounds, even 3/12 FG. He was invited by catalan team, that is close to sign him.

 

Team coached by Joan Rallo reached the big final after three wins in three games: Fundación Bilbao Basket (42-40), Blancos de Rueda Valladolid (42-29) and Real Madrid (48-38). TV Badalona recorded all the final game, so it's available on line in this link
