Is being a tough season for Nick Spires ('94). The 6'9'' swedish forward arrived this summer to FC Barcelona from Solna, but due to problems in one of his knees he missed many games with his new teammates. After some months knocked out he came back, playing last three games of Catalan championship. The first three will make it straight to the spanish round final tournament. At this moment, with four games remaining, Barça is first (9-1) over Manresa (8-2), DKV Joventut (6-4) and Cornellà (6-4).
Spires played last summer the U-16 Division "B" European Championship, finishing wih 17.1 points (63% twos) and 8.3 boards, and huge performances like the ones against Estonia (37+10) or Belgium (25+9). But that's not all. Some weeks ago English Basketball Federation announced the first list for the U-18 NT, and he was there. The reason? He born in Tunbridge Wells, south of London, and he can still chose with what national team he can grow.
