In the last team of russian standings, Triumph Lyubertsy, there is one of the best prospects of this country, playing good minutes at senior level. 2.00 forward Sergey Karasev ('93) is growing as a player, getting experience at top russian level. Team coached by legend Valdemaras Chomicius is struggling in the league, and yesterday lost at home against Dynamo Moscow, with Sergey Bazarevich on the bench (106-109). In the losing effort Karasev played his best season's game by far, but not enough to add the victory. He ended with 34 points (3/6 twos, 6/7 threes and 10/14 ft), 6 rebounds and 3 assists (10 fouls drawn). Crazy contest for him. He is currently averaging 7.2 points and 2.3 boards.
This summer the lefty prospect will be one of the big names in the Division "A" U-18 European Championship held in Poland. Last year, in the same event and being one year young, he nailed 12.4 points pulling down 4.1 rebounds.
