First day of the U-20 Nordic Championship, held in Espoo (Finland), and first show of swedish Alexander Lindqvist ('91). The 2.04 forward, currently playing in Solna, led his national team to the win in the event opener with 19 points (3/4 threes) and 11 rebounds for a 29 efficiency. They beat Finland (61-66), with 2.07 Lukas Winegarner ('91) adding 11 points with 5/6 FG. At the losing effort Olimpija Ljubljana's Sasu Salin ('91) scored 17 (7/16 FG) and Carl Lindbom ('91) had 16 with 9 boards.

 

In the other contest Norway started with a win, in this case over Denmark (69-57). Stian Berg ('91) ended as the best scorer of the winners with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists, while Fredrik Bohn ('91) added 11 points (3/6 threes) and 9 boards. At the danish side Thomas Laerke ('91) wasn't enough even he scored 20, pulling down 10 rebounds (even 9/24 FG). Jonas Zohore Bergstedt ('91) -currently playing in Torrelodones (EBA, Spain)- had 12 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks.

 

Standings: Norway and Sweden (1-0), Finland and Denmark (0-1).
