Second day of the U-20 Nordic Championship, held in Espoo (Finland), and second loss of Denmark even scoring-machine Thomas Laerke ('91). The guard, who nailed 20 points against Norway in the opener, scored today 30 (55% of the points of his team), but danish kids were crashed by Finland (86-55). Former Findlay Prep (USA) prospect made 11/20 FG and 7/7 FT, adding 5 rebounds and 11 fouls drawn. Jonas Zohore Bergstedt ('91) collected a double-double at the losing effort: 13 points and 10 rebounds, even 9 turnovers. Both played this season in spanish minor leagues. For Finland, coached by Pekka Salminen, shined Carl Lindbom ('91) with 24 points (8/12 FG) in 22 minutes, while Olimpija Ljubljana Sasu Salin ('91) added 16 with 4/6 from downtown.

 

In the other contest of the day Sweden remains as the only team unbeaten (2-0) after winning Norway 65-87 behind slovenian Helios Domzale Andreas Person ('91): 19 points with 2/4 threes. Beside him also shined Davidson's Chris Czerapowicz ('91) with 14 points and 9 boards, while Alabama's Carl Engström ('91) added 10 points and 7 boards in only 19'. At norwegian side Stian Berg ('91) scored 13 points but 4/14 FG and guard Oivind Lundestad ('91) 11 and 5 boards.
