Virtus Siena and UGF Virtus Bologna will play today the final of the U-17 Italian Final Round after beating their respective opponents yesterday in the tournament held in Bologna. Riccardo Rovere ('94) -at the pic- led Siena's win with a double-double (12 points and 10 rebounds), while Federico Guazzaloca ('94) ended as the best scorer of Bologna with 19 points (5/10 threes). Let's see what happened in each contest.

 

-Virtus Siena 76 Olimpia Milano 57: After a tied game in the first half Virtus broke it with a huge 33-14 run in the third quarter. Milano couldn't recover. Riccardo Rovere ('94) finished as the best player at winner side with 12 points (6/10 FG), 10 rebounds and 1 block, while Corrado Bianconi ('94) added 10 but 4/13 FG. At the losing effort point-guard Andrea Amato ('94) ended as the only player who scored in double-digits: 13 points (6/13 FG), 5 boards and 1 assist.

 

-Basket Crabs Rimini 73 UGF Virtus Bologna 82: Georgian Giga Janelidze ('95) made another huge game (16 points, 14 rebounds and 1 block), while Julian Gualtieri ('95) -international for San Marino- added 19 points and 10 boards and Nicolò Marengo ('94) another double-double (15+12), but all this job wasn't enough for Crabs. Bologna made it to the final with Federico Guazzaloca ('94) having 19 points with 5/10 from downtown. Youngster Simone Fontecchio ('95) nailed 14 grabbing 7 rebounds.
