Djordje Kaplanovic ('95) led Serbia in the U-16 Riom Tournament, held in the french city last week. Four Division "A" teams (Greece, Italy and France were the rest) prepared their participation in the next European Championship with this three-day event. The prospect was selected the MVP, while his teammate Dusan Ristic ('95) ended as the best scorer with 15.3 points.

 

In the opener they beat Italy (82-101) behind Ristic, with 20 points, and Brano Djukanovic ('95) with 17. At the losing effort Simone Fontecchio ('95) nailed 17. In the second day they made the same against Greece (91-77) with a good job from Ristic (16) and Kaplanovic (16). Finally they closed the tournament with a victory over hosts (62-71). In this contest Kaplanovic had 18 and Djukanovic 13.

 

Other results: France 61 Greece 49, Italy 56 France 73 and Italy 64 Greece 75.

 

Final standings: Serbia (3-0), France (2-1), Greece (1-2) and Italy (0-3).
