Wales is the new champion of the U18 Division "C" EC, held this week in San Marino, after surprising hosts in the big final (65-60). Guard Sumiullah Khan ('94) led the victory with 17 points and 3/8 behind the arc, while Harley Andrews ('94) added a huge double-double: 16 points (6/6 FG) and 15 boards. Juan Gualtieri ('95), from Crabs Rimini (Italy), scored 14 with an horrible 1/11 at 3 points line. Eventhough he was selected the event's MVP. The rest of the All-Tournament team was for Khan and Jacob David Lloyd ('94), from Wales, and Vladislav Sololopa ('95) and Daniel Marcenco ('93) from Moldova.

 

Final standings: 1-Wales, 2-San Marino, 3-Moldova, 4-Andorra and 5-Gibraltar.
