Georgia and Estonia will play next year in the Division "A" of the U20 European Championship after getting the ticket in the Division "B"'s event held last days in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina). Both played the final, with georgian victory (79-70) behind MVP Tornike Shengelia ('91) -at the pic-, who had 26 points (3/5 threes), 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. Beside him also shined 6'9'' PF Akaki Dvalishvili ('91): 20 points (9/14 FG) and 10 boards. At the losing effort Janar Soo ('91) finished as the best scorer with 16, pulling down 2 rebounds. Who was selected in the All-Tournament Team with Shengelia? Belgium Dennis Donkor ('91), Czech Ondrej Balvin ('92), Estonian Rain Veideman ('91) and Bosnian Miralem Halilovic ('91).
But the important games were the semifinals. Georgia beat Czech Republic (74-72) with Shengelia having 33 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing effort Tomas Vyoral ('92) and Ondrej Peterka ('91) nailed 20 apiece. In the other contest Estonia defeated Belgium (61-64) behind Veideman, who scored 15 points adding 4 steals. Pierre Gillet ('91), the best at the other side with 15 points and 14 boards.
