FIBA Europe announced the 24 players who will participate in the U18 FIBA All Star game, held on September 17th at Kaunas (Lithuania) during the Eurobasket. According to the organization the list features prominent names such as U19 World Championship silver medallist Aleksandar Cvetkovic ('93) of Serbia and last year's U16 European Championship MVP Dario Saric ('94). Sergey Karasev ('93) of Russia is another player who collected silverware this summer as well as last year to secure his spot in the prestigious event.

 

Players that impressed at the U18 European Championship Division "B" and "C" were also invited. Pavlin Ivanov ('93), the MVP of the U18 Championship Division "B" is part of the selection as well as Denmark power-forward Rasmus Larsen ('94) who featured in Denmark's first appearance in Division "A" at the U16 European Championship Men 2010 and secured his return to Division "A" for next season. The U18 All Star Game, which was first played at Eurobasket 2009 in Katowice, with Lithuania star Jonas Valanciunas ('92) winning the MVP trophy, will be played on the same court as the Eurobasket Finals, the brand new 14.500 seat Kauno Arena. The players will arrive for a short preparation on September 15th and be split into two teams after the first practice on the same evening. The practices and the game will be led by legendary coach Svetislav Pesic.
