Yesterday started a new edition of the U16 La Orotava Tournament, in Canary Islands (Spain). Eight teams competing, including one german (Brose), one lithuanian (Kaunas) and one ukranian (Krania). And the first big names of the opener were african prospects Jonathan Kasibabu ('96) and Bourama Sidibe ('97). Both, from canarian club Canterbury, made crazy performances, but not enough to beat FC Barcelona Regal (64-62). Kasibabu had 24 points, 15 rebounds, 6 steals and 5 blocks for a 40 valoration, while youngster Sidibe ended with 29 points, 17 boards, 5 steals and 2 blocks for a 44 ranking. Barcelona made a 45 valoration the whole team. Crazy. David Martínez ('96), the best at the winning effort with 13 points and 5 rebounds. In the other game of the same group Brose beat Kaunas (57-64) behind a great job of slovak Patrik Boloz ('96). Their recent addition, 6'11'' tall, led the win with 21 points, 12 rebounds and 1 block. At lithuanian side Martynas Varnas ('97) finished with a double-double (13 points and 10 rebounds).
In the other group local squad (San Isidro) was crashed by Krania (36-102) with Oleksandr Kobets ('96) having 23 points and 6 boards. In the other contest Real Madrid defeated Gran Canaria (48-74).
