Alex Abrines ('93), the U18 European Championship MVP after leading Spain to the Gold medal, was one of the big names of last week-end. The guard of Clinicas Rincon (farm team of Unicaja) was selected the best player of the round in LEB Gold behind a 35 valoration. Eventhough they lost, becoming last on the standings with a 0-4 record. Eurohopes contacted him.

Abrines ended with 25 points (5/6 threes), 6 rebounds and 3 steals in the losing effort against La Palma (79-64). The prospect explains that "is very difficult play in this league with a young team like us. But we are doing our best working every day to compete". He adds that "about the MVP it's not so important. I'm proud of it, but I already forgot it. My goal of this season is work to play in the ACB team, earning a spot in it".

This summer many NCAA scouts travelled to Poland to watch the U18 tournament. Abrines tells that "at the moment I'm not thinking in playing out of Spain. I'm very comfortable here right now. The level of the leagues is really high".
