French wing William Howard (’93) was the most outstanding European player at National Prep Showcase played past weekend at Albertus Magnus College at New Haven, Connecticut. The player of New Hope Academy (Maryland) made a double-double in the win against Winchendon with 19 points, 11 rebounds and 3/5 from the arc. But he saved his best for the next day when he scored 30 points on 8-13 shooting and 10-10 from line in terrific losing effort against powerful Notre Dame Prep (Massachusetts). Besides, Howard added 14 rebounds and 4 assists.

Howard was not the only european that shined in New Haven. Serbian Strahinja Gavrilovic (’93) left good impression in the two losses of La Jolla Prep (California). Against South Kent (Connecticut) the USC commit scored 20 points and grabbed 5 boards and in front of Maine Central Institute (Maine) scored 23.

Let’s see other european prospects that took part of the showcase:

- Lee Academy (Maine) brought some european flavour with croatian Andrija Naglic (’93), lithuanian Arturas Makovskis (’94), french Baila Sow (’92), the recently decommitted from Loyola Marymount czech Jiri Kaspar (’91) and from England the committed to Maine Barry Webster (’92).

- South Kent School (Connecticut) have a highly skilled seven footer from Lithuania Laimonas Chatkevicius (’93) that is committed to Kansas State.

- La Jolla Prep (California) besides Gavrilovic they brought lithuanian Povalis Dambrauskas (’93) and Ronald Elkins (’94) from Latvia.

- La Lumiere (Indiana) went to the Showcase with croatian prospect Matej Buovac ('93). In the opener against Lee Academy he scored 9 points and 16 against Vermont. 

- Winchendon School (Massachusetts) played with the elder brother of Maltese Falzons. Tevin Falzon (’92) recently signed the letter of intention (LOI) with Sacred Heart.

- Northfield Mount Hermon (Massachusetts) won both games of the weekend with the contribution of the member of another european saga the english Lucas Van Nes (’93). The Hogger hit 4 points and 3 rebounds in the first game, and grabbed 2 boards in the second contest.

- Brewster Academy (New Hampshire) brought lithuanian Rudolf Arnicans (’94).

- Blair Academy (New Jersey) have in their team the english prospect Joe Hart (’93).
 

- Wilbraham & Monson (Massachusetts) was lead for german Maodo Lô (’93) and spaniard Alex Ramon (’93) in a losing effort. Ramon is committed to Colgate.
