One of the most important tournaments at high school level in United States finished. Best American prospects and high schools battled intensely for the win in front of the scouts. The German academy Urspringschule returned one more year to play again in the signature series against Wilbraham & Monson (Massachusetts) and Friends Central School (Pennsylvania). At the first game against Wilbraham & Monson Malo Valerien (’92) scored 14 points, grabbed 4 rebounds, made 2 steals and dished 4 assists. Kalidou Diouf (’94) hit 18 points, 9 of 12 from the field, collected 10 boards and 2 dimes at the same game in the losing effort by one. For Wilbraham & Monson another German prospect shined with 13 points, 2 rebounds and 2 steals, Maodo Lo (’92), at the pic. Lo’s teammate Spaniard Alex Ramon (’93) played 3 minutes.
In their second game against Friends, Urspringschule lost again in a thrilling end with Kevin Bright (’92) like a most outstanding player with 18 points (4 threes), 8 rebounds and 4 dimes. Diouf played again a good game making 11 points and 5 rebounds.
In the final of signature series, Wilbraham lost 47-63 against Tilton High School (New Hampshire) with Lo scoring 13 points (3 from the arc), 5 boards, 2 assists and 3 steals playing the entire game. Meanwhile, Ramon played only 2 minutes. In Tilton the other Spaniard of the tournament did not play this game but he played the first game against Friends. Nacho Ballvé ('93) scored 6 points from the arc (2/2), grabbed 1 board and 1 dime in only 4 minutes in the court. German Evandro Bildau ('93) is also in Tilton's roster.
