Zalgiris is the third team qualifying for the final round of the Euroleague's Nike International Junior Tournament after winning in Kaunas. Lithuanians join Lietuvos Rytas and KK Zagreb, the champions in Hospitalet (Spain) and Rome (Italy). Team coached by Tomas Masiulis won the big final after crashing Khimki (107-60) behind great performances of Tomas Dimsa ('94), 20 points (8/14 FG) and 5 rebounds, Justas Tamulis ('94), 21 with 6/8 threes, and Marius Grigonis ('94), 15 with 16 assists and 6 boards. At russian side Stanislav Ilnitskiy ('94) had 12 points (but 5/15 FG). Dimsa was selected the tournament MVP after averaging 20.0 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists. Who were named in the best five also? His teammate Grigonis is also there with 13.0 points, 7.3 assists and 6.3 rebounds. Russian Ilnitsky (19.3 and 7.3 rebounds), Vaerlose 1994 born danish Rasmus Larsen (6.7 and 2.3 boards) and VEF Riga 1995 born Davis Geks (19.3 and 59% threes) are the other ones.
