After many weeks -even months- being offered to many european teams polish prospect Mateusz Ponitka ('93) knows finally his next destination. 6'6'' guard, currently playing for AZS Politechnika Warszawa, will make soon a step forward in his career after reaching an agreement with Asseco Prokom. According to AZS chairman Jolanta Dolecka he will join the Euroleague squad. Ponitka is averaging this season 13.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.4 steals in 25 minutes. In the last five contests his stats have increased, showing why he is considered one of the best players of his generation (#4 in Eurohopes): 19.8 points, 5.4 boards and 1.4 assists.

One year ago in an interview we made him he was still studying if leaving to the States or stay in Europe. Finally american colleges won't enjoy him (the agreement is a 3-years deal with an option to leave after two). Now the question is where Przemek Karnowski, another pearl of this polish generation, will land. NCAA?
