Summer 2009. We travelled to Skopje (Macedonia) to follow the U20 Division "B" European Championship. We saw prospects like czech David Jelinek ('90) or georgian Tornike Shengelia ('91), but also nice details from finnish Matti Nuutinen ('90). 6'6'' power-forward finished that event with 10.0 points (46% threes) and 5.7 rebounds. He showed a good touch and effective 3-points shooter. Almost three years after that the prospect has made his best show at top level. Was yesterday in the play-offs of Korisliiga. He is playing for Nilan Bisons after signing last summer for team located in Loimaa. They tied the series (1-1) behind a 87-99 victory against Pyrinto. Nuutinen scored 39 points (5/7 twos, 7/9 threes and 8/8 free throws), pulled down 7 rebounds and distributed 2 assists.
Nuutinen plays in his third team last three seasons (Kouvot, Salon Vilpas), but actually is making his best stats: 11.4 points (35% threes) and 5.7 rebounds.
