Baloncesto Torrejon qualyfied for the final round of U18 Spanish championship after finishing third of Madrid tournament behind Real Madrid and Estudiantes. And made it behind the MVP of the event: 6'11'' african center Moussa Diagné ('94). He finished as the best player of the event with crazy performances. Eurohopes contacted him: "I want to play and progress".
In the opener of the tournament Torrejon lost to Real Madrid (73-68), and Diagné had 26 points (8/11 twos and 10/19 free throws), 22 rebounds, 11 fouls drawn and 47 valoration against Willy Hernangómez ('94), recently champion at Mannheim. In the second journey they defeated Estudiantes (67-63) with the african having 13 points (5/7 twos and 3/4 free throws), 11 boards, 3 blocks and 27 valoration against Sebas Saiz ('94), another recent champion in Mannheim. Finally Torrejon lost to Fuenlabrada (59-73) even Diagné: 26 points (12/17 twos and 2/3 free throws), 27 rebounds, 3 blocks and 50 valoration. The prospect explains that "after the tournament I feel very good, feeling that I've done my best for the team".
Diagné has played this season with the senior team at EBA (fourth division), making interesting stats: 7.8 points (58% FG), 9.6 rebounds, 1.2 blocks in 21 minutes. He adds that "my progression is doing well because I've combined U18 and EBA squads, feeling myself that every day I can do more things". He is under contract with Torrejon, but tells that "they don't want me to continue in EBA". Few ACB teams have shown interest. Fuenlabrada is one of them, so maybe will see him there next season.
