Some days ago he was selected the MVP of the Adidas Eurocamp at Treviso (Italy). Ukranian guard Oleksandr Lypovyy ('91) shined in the event with his skills, being solid and making many things at the PG spot with his intriguing frame. But the 6'7'' prospect hasn't played a lot this season with Donetsk, recent league champion. At domestic competition he has averaged 2.3 points and 1.3 rebounds in less than 10 minutes, while at the Eurocup his stats were 2.6+1.8 also in 10'. He is under contract with Donetsk ("for a long time", according the player), even last seasons he got the interest of some european powerhouses. Eurohopes staff talked with him: "My goal for next year? I want to play more than this season".
Lypovyy, who had 7.3 points (60% twos), 2.0 steals and 1.8 assists for a 10.0 valoration in Treviso, expects now "to work with a good coach to get something new". After italian event he adds that "there were many good players, and I got the chance to play for one of the best teams. We read well the game and helped eachother. That's why I showed all I can. Getting the MVP was a surprise for me". Last summer he participated in the U20 European Championship, finishing with 13.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists. In a few weeks he will help senior NT in the Eurobasket Qualifying Round: "we have the coach of last year, so he knows how to work with us. This will have influence for a good result, playing in a good level with the maximum goals".
