Last summer he decided to leave his home country (Latvia) trying to make the foreign adventure. Weeks before he made a good U20 European Championship in Bilbao (Spain), finishing with 10.4 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists. Who signed him? One of the Spain assistants in the event (Jesus Sala), head coach at Clavijo (LEB Gold). One year later he makes a valoration of his decision to Eurohopes. He is Mareks Mejeris ('91). He signed a 1+1 contract.

"It was a good season. I gained a lot of experience. Maybe it was not so good in improving my skills, but I got a good life school". Mejeris is clear in his words. 6'9'' power-forward played in Liepajas for many years, but now is different: "Here I can improve myself more than at home". He finished last season averaging 3.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 55% on twos, but watching last nine contests his numbers were 7.0 points and 4.4 rebounds. The prospect explains that "There were many coincidences that were good for me. First there were some injuries, and we were safe in the league. So coach let me play. Of course I was more confident then than in the start of season".
